About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of the plant. Working a rotating shift roster, you will monitor processes, support maintenance activities, and help drive a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and monitor plant equipment and processing systems, including field equipment and DCS (Distributed Control System).
- Monitor plant performance, identify equipment faults and process issues, and take appropriate action.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance and isolations, while supporting maintenance and shutdown activities as required.
- Collect production samples, complete operational checks, and maintain accurate production reports, shift logs, and computer-based records.
- Issue and work under Permit to Work systems and follow all site safety and emergency procedures.
- Conduct effective shift handovers to ensure operational continuity.
Role Requirements
- Previous experience as a Plant Operator, Process Technician, Production Operator, Chemical Process Operator, or similar role.
- Current Forklift Licence (essential).
- Experience in manufacturing, mining, chemical processing, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and computer skills for reporting and data entry.
- Experience with DCS or automated process control systems (desirable).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and the ability to work a rotating shift roster.
Highly Regarded
- Boiler Operator experience or certification, including the operation and monitoring of industrial steam boilers.
- Boilermaker/Welder trade qualification, fabrication experience, or other relevant trade background.
- High Risk Work Licences, Confined Space, and Working at Heights tickets.
- Experience with Permit to Work systems, isolation procedures, fixed plant maintenance, and shutdown activities.
