Plant Metallurgist

Immediate FIFO Opportunity | South Australia | 8:6 Roster

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Plant Metallurgist to join a major mining operation in South Australia on an initial 2 to 4-month contract, with the potential for extension.

Working as part of a high-performing technical team, you will provide critical metallurgical support to plant operations, helping optimise processing performance, improve recoveries and support ongoing production objectives. This role offers valuable exposure to a complex processing environment and the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing day-to-day metallurgical support to plant operations
• Monitoring and optimisation plant performance, recoveries and throughput
• Analysing process data and identifying improvement opportunities
• Investigating metallurgical and operational issues and recommending solutions
• Supporting production teams with technical advice and guidance
• Assisting with metallurgical reporting and performance tracking
• Working closely with operational and technical stakeholders to achieve production targets

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience as a Plant Metallurgist within a processing plant environment
• Strong understanding of metallurgical principles and process optimisation
• Experience working on mine sites or within operational processing facilities
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• The ability to integrate quickly into an operational team and deliver immediate value
