About The Opportunity

WesTrac | Ravensworth Mine Site (Hunter Valley)

WesTrac is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic Leading Hand to join our team onsite at Ravensworth Mine. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll support the Maintenance Supervisor by coordinating daily maintenance activities, mentoring tradespeople, and ensuring equipment reliability across a fleet of Caterpillar mining equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Plant Mechanic who enjoys leading from the front, developing others, and delivering exceptional maintenance outcomes in a safety-focused mining environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities for the work group.
• Support safe work practices and compliance with site procedures.
• Mentor and develop Plant Mechanics and apprentices.
• Assist with planning, scheduling and allocation of maintenance tasks.
• Drive equipment reliability, quality workmanship and productivity.
• Liaise with Supervisors and customers to achieve operational targets.

What You'll Bring

• Australian recognised trade qualification in Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant.
• Proven experience maintaining large-scale mining equipment.
• Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience within mining.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
• Sound communication and team leadership skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
