We have an enticing residential Permit Officer position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 7/7 (12-hour days) roster.

Here’s what awaits you:

  • The Permit Officer reports to the Production Planner, and the primary role is to ensure that all equipment shut down and operational tasks are planned and scheduled so there is minimal disruption to the processing plant operation.
  • To manage the Hand Over Permit (HOP) System for isolations required for planned and unplanned maintenance and operational requirements. To ensure that work permits are approved, that all safety precautions are in place and adhered to and communicated to the permit holder in a timely manner. Develop and maintain a production planning function and culture which aligns with the NSR vision, goals. Identify and maintain plant isolation identification tags and associated valve identification database to ensure the safety of personnel and to comply with the Isolation procedure.
  • Maintain and update HOP isolation database where required, to ensure accuracy of isolation requirements within the operations. Coordinate and assist Mineral Processing operators as required to ensure isolations and Permit of Isolations are checked and audited to provide adequate safety in regards to isolations, permits and HOP’s.
  • Prepare HOP and permit isolations for daily maintenance activities including breakdowns in consultation with process control operators to ensure operational preparedness and efficient application of permits. Prepare isolation permits for major plant outages, to ensure Hazardous Energy Isolations are identified and documented prior to maintenance activities.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years working in mineral processing or related industry with at least two (2) years supervisory or senior technician experience. Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling effective communication at all levels of the organisation. Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills. Sound leadership skills, including the ability to coach, train, and influence the behaviour of others.Ability to work unsupervised. Able to work as part of a team and foster team building relationships (be a good team fit). Work with attention to detail. Ability to train and transfer knowledge in alignment with the department training matrix.

Qualifications: Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
