If you’re early in your geology career and want to build solid open-pit experience, this is a good opportunity to get involved in the practical side of grade control and mine geology.

We’re looking for a Contract Mine Geologist to join an established open-pit operation in Western Australia for an initial four-month contract, starting late October 2026.

Working on 8 days on, 6 days off roster FIFO ex Perth, you’ll join an existing geology team supporting grade control activities across the operation. The role will give you practical exposure to RC drilling, grade control processes and the day-to-day geological work that supports an operating mine.

You’ll be involved in supervising grade control drilling and logging, with two RC rigs supported across the wider team. You’ll also assist with grade control QA/QC, data entry and mark-ups as part of the broader open-pit geology workflow.

This would suit someone with minimum 2 years of hard-rock geology experience who is looking to build on their existing skills within a producing mine environment. Previous gold experience would be useful, but isn’t essential if you have relevant experience in another hard-rock commodity.

You don’t need experience with a long list of specialist software. Strong general computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, are important, with training available for the other systems used on site.

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum 2 years’ hard-rock geology experience
• Exposure to RC drilling and grade control
• Gold experience advantageous, but not essential
• Good geological logging skills
• Strong attention to QA/QC and geological data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Current manual driver’s licence
• Ability to work effectively within a site geology team.
