About the Role
The Opportunity:
You’ll work closely with a diverse team to embed effective risk management practices, support safe work execution, and ensure incidents lead to meaningful learning and sustainable improvements for our Health, Safety & Training department at Agnew Gold Mine.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maturity of critical risk management practices, including verification of control effectiveness in the field
- Coach supervisors and frontline leaders in risk identification, control application, and decision making under uncertainty
- Lead and support ICAM (or equivalent) investigations, ensuring strong causal analysis and clear, actionable outcomes
- Drive improvement in the quality of safety interactions, verifications, and assurance activities (moving beyond “tick and flick”)
- Use systems (e.g. INX) and site data to identify trends and translate insights into practical risk reduction actions
- Contribute to maintaining alignment with legislative requirements and Gold Fields standards, while focusing on what is effective in practice
- Role model our core values and create a culture where every team member feels seen, supported, and valued.
About You / Requirements
- Experience in a safety role within mining or heavy industry

- A practical, field-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge and improve how work is done
- Relevant qualification in Work Health & Safety (Cert IV or higher)
