The opportunity
Reporting to the Mining Production Superintendent, the Mining Production Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe execution of the mining operations, managing incidents, building great team culture, providing guidance and support to the leading hands, and developing team members.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region, which operates on an 8:6, 7:7 FIFO roster (days / nights) from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure consistent compliance with all WHS requirements across site.
- Ensure an appropriate team-based safety culture is built.
- Manage direct reports for work and non-work-related issues.
- Provide support, coaching and guidance to team members.
- Provide the context and clear direction to team members to ensure tasks are executed as planned.
- Ensure all operational and employee metrics are managed and reported as directed
- Ensure daily work activity and office duties are managed effectively.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders to deliver the mine plan.
- Attend daily and weekly mine plan meetings and own the mine plan and execute each week.
- Work with the training department to improve the standard of operation of the mining fleet and align the training department to the mining leaders’ expectations.
- Contribute to, respect and be proactive in adopting procedures that minimise environmental impact by the mining operation and actively contribute to management of life of mine.
About you
- Proven leadership experience in in open-cut mining operations and projects, preferably hard rock.
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, processes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with WA DMIRS guidelines, industry best practices and WHS risks section 26.
- Effective communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Achievement of production targets in mining operations.
- Successful execution of mining operations and development projects within specified timelines and budgets.
- High safety compliance and incident-free operations.
- S26 Statutory Supervisor qualification.
- Current C class manual Driver’s Licence (HR Driver’s Licence preferred).
- National Police Clearance.
- Certificate II or III in RII surface extraction (desirable).
- Applied first aid HLTAID003 (desirable).
