Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mine Manager to join our dynamic and successful team.

As a valued member of the Production team and reporting directly to the Operations Manage/SSE, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the safety of your team, production and productivity targets are achieved, and mining schedules are followed
• Demonstrate positive leadership, advice and support as head of department or business unit. Define clearly the role, accountabilities and expectations of team members.
• Bring energy to the management, direction and coordination of the department or business unit – within an operation or division (including team development and professional development of team members);
• Assist Senior Leadership Team with development of accurate annual budgets and forecasting to align performance to meet annual targets.
• Providing visible leadership, advice and support in relevant function or process area.
• Oversee planning and allocation of task activities within the designated process area to achieve forecasted business results (including health, safety, environment and community impacts of work);
• Support operation or divisional budget in terms of managing resources effectively, including monitoring and controlling costs.
• Assist in the development of standards, procedures and processes in relevant functional or process areas; manage the identification and implementation of improvements.
• Manage people within the area of responsibility using available tools and skills to directly or indirectly influence the focus and direction provided to employees.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Extensive operational experience in an open cut environment is essential
• Ability to provide strong and visible leadership to your team
• Previous experience and positive results in a senior technical role in a medium to large scale operation
• Drivers licence.
• Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency
• RIIRIS402E Carry out the risk management processes (previously MNCG1002A)
• RIIRIS301, Apply Risk Management Processes, GRM 01
• RIIWHS301, GCAA – GII, Conduct Safety & Health Investigations
• RIIOHS301A Conduct Safety and Health Investigations.
• RIICOM301A Communicate Information.
