Why Dalgaranga?
Dalgaranga is entering an exciting new phase. At the centre of the operation is Never Never Underground, a high-grade deposit with a 1.6Moz Ore Reserve and an 11-year mine plan. Underground mining is underway, with the operation continuing to ramp up and develop towards steady-state production.
Exploration and future studies are continuing across the wider Dalgaranga area, creating potential for further underground opportunities beyond Never Never.
About the Role
We have two newly created Mining Engineer positions on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth. Reporting to the Alternate Underground Manager you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and value-focused underground mining outcomes. You’ll combine practical field involvement with technical design and planning, working across multiple stoping fronts to optimise production, ore recovery and operational performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver drill, blast and underground designs that maximise value, productivity and ore recovery.
- Lead drill and blast activities across multiple stoping fronts, ensuring safe and effective execution.
- Contribute to mine planning and scheduling to support safe, compliant and efficient production.
- Optimise designs to maximise grade and recovery while minimising dilution.
- Monitor production performance, reporting and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Geology, Planning, Production and contractors to deliver mining outcomes.
- Support team capability, contractor management and a strong safety culture across the operation.
- Assist with paste and fill notes, ventilation requirements and other technical mining activities.
About You
You are an experienced Underground Mining Engineer with a strong commitment to safety, accuracy and continuous improvement. You enjoy working collaboratively with operational teams and take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes that support efficient mining operations.
You'll Ideally Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering and relevant mining experience.
- Experience across underground mine design, including lateral and vertical development and production.
- Strong drill and blast design capability, with Deswik experience highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge and practical application of mining legislation and safety requirements.
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills with a proactive approach.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- WA “C” Class Driver Licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
