Mining Engineer

The Opportunity

Our team are currently seeking a highly motivated Mining Engineer to join our Central Pilbara team on an 8D6X roster.

You will be primarily responsible for providing support with Production and Drill and Blast departments including reporting, drill and blast and mine plans and schedules. You will ensure these functions are done in a timely, professional and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and make changes for Drill and Blast and mining resourcing requirements
• Maintain and improve the Drill and Blast process
• Carry out and report QA/QC on the Drill and Blast Process
• Develop, implement and maintain design & planning processes
• Undertake Drill and Blast related project studies and investigations
• Provide technical services support to production and other execution teams to safety

What is Required:

• Established relevant Drill and Blast and Mining Planning experience and qualifications within Mining Engineering or similar discipline
• Software experience in Vulcan or a similar software is highly desirable
• Team-oriented mindset, focused on quality and solutions.
• Adaptable to changing environments with a strong commitment to safety.

About The Central Pilbara Project

MinRes' Central Pilbara iron ore operation produces approximately 10 million tonnes of direct shipping ore annually, delivered to Port Hedland across two active mine sites — Iron Valley (200km from Newman) and Lamb Creek (150km from Newman). Ore from both sites is blended at port to meet customer grade specifications.

With two pits running simultaneously, mine engineering sits at the heart of production performance. The role offers genuine technical breadth, from short- and medium-term mine planning through to mine and blast designs, and reconciliation, with your work directly shaping crusher throughput and grade delivery to market.
