We’re seeking a Mining Engineer (Planning) – Open Pit to join our Technical Services Team at our Leonora operation and support the brand-new Tower Hill operations. In this role you will support safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations through mine production planning, short term scheduling and operational support. Tower Hill’s proximity to the community and sensitive receivers requires a planning engineer with attention to detail and ability to respond to a changing mining environment.

The Opportunity

• Contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations
• Short-term mine planning (daily/weekly) and support plan execution
• Daily in field interaction and communication with the production team to ensure works are aligned with the daily plan and weekly schedule
• Weekly pre-plan and assumption setting meetings with stakeholders
• Design short-term mine infrastructure, including dumps, haul roads and access ramps
• Prepare dig plans, face maps, and operator instructions to support selective mining
• Upload and manage dig designs and surfaces on machines
• Liaise with production, geology, and survey departments to ensure efficient execution of production plans

We’re excited to hear from you if you have

• Operational site-based mining experience (ideally Gold) and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment
• Proficiency in mining software (ideally Deswik sched/cad, Shotplus)
• Technical expertise in relation to Open Pit mine design, optimisation and planning
• Expert user of Microsoft Office – Excel
• Proficient with computer scheduling software (Deswick, Datamine etc.)
• Power BI reporting (Desirable)
