Mining / Civil Engineer

The Opportunity

A Tier 1 mining operation is seeking an experienced Mining / Civil Engineer to lead engineering and operational delivery for a small-scale bauxite mining operation supporting a major life-of-mine extension. This is a technically focused leadership role overseeing planning, civil infrastructure, and contractor-led mining activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver integrated mine plans (short, medium, long term)
• Oversee open pit sequencing, haul roads, drainage, and site infrastructure
• Lead rehabilitation and closure planning activities
• Align mine planning with approvals, environmental, heritage, and project requirements
• Identify and manage key risks, constraints, and production drivers
• Provide technical oversight to a bulk earthworks contractor
• Drive HSEC compliance and regulatory adherence
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation
• Engage with stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and Traditional Owners

About You

• Degree qualified in Mining or Civil Engineering
• Strong open cut mining experience (bauxite or bulk materials preferred)
• Proven capability across mine planning, scheduling, and earthworks delivery
• Solid understanding of drainage, civil infrastructure, and rehabilitation
• Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
• Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and production targets
