Our Opportunity

Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 8D 6R FIFO ex Perth

We are seeking an experienced Project Mine Geologist to join the Operations Planning team at Iron Bridge. Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will provide technical leadership across grade control and mine geology activities, ensuring accurate geological interpretation, strong data governance, and alignment with production and reconciliation targets within a complex open-pit magnetite operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimise grade control systems
  • Maintain data integrity and reconciliation standards
  • Act as 2IC to the Senior Mine Geologist
  • Oversee daily mine geology activities and provide operational support
  • Mentor and develop geologists and graduates
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across geology functions

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience
  • 4+ years’ mining experience, including 2+ years in a mine geology role
  • Strong working knowledge of Vulcan, SQL databases and MS Office
  • Experience with Power BI, Python and/or SQL programming (desirable)
  • Magnetite experience highly regarded
  • High level analytical capability, organisational skills and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Current WA C-Class manual driver’s licence
  • Experience using collaborative platforms such as SharePoint advantageous
