About the Role

As a Mine Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring underground mining activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mine. You will act as a central point of communication between underground crews, supervisors, emergency response teams, and site management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring underground personnel and equipment movements using mine tracking systems
• Maintaining accurate records of underground activities and workforce movements
• Coordinating communications between underground and surface operations
• Monitoring production and operational activities and escalating issues as required
• Responding to emergency situations in accordance with site procedures
• Maintaining shift logs, reports, and operational documentation
• Assisting with emergency preparedness and response processes
• Ensuring compliance with Barminco's safety standards, policies, and procedures
• Supporting operational teams to achieve production and safety targets

About You / Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have: Essential:

• Previous experience in a Mine Control, Underground Mining, or Mining Operations Coordination role
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Experience using mining communication, tracking, or fleet management systems
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
• Current C Class Driver's Licence Highly Desirable:
• Previous underground mining experience
• Experience with Mine Control or personnel tracking systems
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures within a mining environment
• Experience working in a FIFO or remote site environment
• Senior First Aid qualification
