About the Role

Mader Group’s Rail Services division are currently seeking Mechanical Fitters to join our Rostered Maintenance Crews on an 8/6 roster, days only! Start date ASAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on Plasser RM900 ballast cleaning machines and associated rail maintenance equipment.
• Diagnose, fault find and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and conveyor systems to maximise equipment reliability.
• Service and overhaul bearings, gearboxes, drive systems, hydraulic components and rotating equipment.
• Carry out welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs, including the removal and installation of heavy components.
• Ensure all work is completed safely in accordance with OEM specifications, rail industry standards and company procedures, while maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Skills & Experience

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining heavy mobile plant, rail, mining or industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills.
• National Police Clearance within 6 months
• Current driver's license
