About the Role
As a Manual / CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and programming machinery to manufacture and repair components to precise specifications. Duties will include interpreting technical drawings, preparing and loading materials, operating CNC and conventional machines, conducting quality inspections, fault finding and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with supervisors and fellow tradespeople to ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
What you'll need to succeed
- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner / Fitter Machinist
- Extensive machining experience
- Experience operating CNC and conventional machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
- Experience within mining, heavy engineering or heavy industry environments
- Hydraulic cylinder knowledge and experience
- Lifting equipment experience
- Forklift licence highly regarded
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
