About the Role

---

As Mining Production Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering our Supply Chain commitment, through safe and efficient mining practices. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader who will drive strong value optimisation and organisational capability to ensure strategy, systems and processes are embedded to support high performance.

Success in this role will come from your ability to build strong and capable teams, foster trusted relationships across the operation, and drive integrated execution across the mine through a strong commitment to safety, performance and continuous improvement.

You will play an important role in shaping culture, developing leadership capability and ensuring the systems, resources and processes are in place to support safe, disciplined and productive mining execution across services, production or development work areas.

Reporting to the Newman Operations General Manager, your key responsibilities will be to:

• Sustain a safe operation in line with BHP’s risk management framework, contractor management and by building a strong risk-aware culture.
• Delivering end to end compliance to our mining strategy, through disciplined and engaged routines, problem solving, and management of change.
• Establish and maintain governance, assurance and management of change processes that support value delivery and operational performance.
• Use our operating system to deliver projects, improvements, and safe execution of the mine plan.
• Monitor delivery through key performance indicators, operational risks, controls, and improvement opportunities.
• Manage multiple customer relationships, influence and provide strong engagement interfaces to manage complex business requirements.

About You

---

You have demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring large, multidisciplinary teams in a complex operational environment, coupled with exceptional mining production expertise and a diverse operational background.

Excellent communication and influencing skills will enable quick, effective and collaborative relationships, whilst a strong leadership shadow, ability to drive continuous improvement and manage risk will ensure safety excellence and optimal operational delivery is maintained.

In addition, you will bring the following skills and experience:

• Strong strategic thinking, planning and decision-making capabilities in complex environments
• Previous experience in a similar role, successfully managing large-scale mining operations
• Advanced technical knowledge across all aspects of mining operations
• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and the community.
• Results focused with a demonstrated track record managing successful, cohesive teams.
• A leader with commitment to safe operations and building a strong risk-aware culture.

This role will see you working a 5:2, 4:3, 9:5 rosterand can be supported residentially based in Newman or Fly-in-Fly-Out on this roster pattern.

The 7,000 strong community of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre with shops and restaurants as well as sporting facilities, swimming pool and Gym’s.  Newman is gateway to the Karijini National Park, where you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes to explore in your free time.  

Our Newman Operations are located approximately 5 to 10kms out of Newman, Western Australia which makes it a short trip to / from work!
