Maintenance Superintendent

Job Description

This role oversees daily and weekly maintenance schedules, drives a high‑performance safety culture, supports workforce capability development, and ensures operational standards are consistently met. The position works closely with the maintenance Manager to achieve production objectives and maintain a safe, well‑organised work environment. Responsibilities

• Promote and uphold Redpath’s safety systems, standards, Code of Conduct, and Fitness for Work requirements.
• Lead by example to drive a strong, positive safety culture across the underground operations.
• Conduct and actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox meetings, risk assessments, investigations, and project-related forums.
• Ensure compliance with all legislation, Redpath policies and procedures, and client requirements.
• Identify hazards, report incidents or near misses, and take corrective or emergency action when required.
• Oversee underground maintenance performance to meet daily and weekly plans while ensuring quality and housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate and supervise maintenance teams to achieve operational targets.
• Highlight operational or performance gaps to the Project Manager and recommend corrective actions.
• Support development and implementation of 3‑month, weekly, and daily maintenance schedules.
• Promote a professional work environment and represent Redpath positively.
• Support the development and training of personnel to maintain operational capability.

Qualifications

• relevant Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment / Diesel Fitter trade qualifications;experience working in mining, shaft sinking, heavy industry or major construction projects;valid manual drivers licence;current First Aid & CPR qualification;demonstrated strong fault finding skills;auto electrical knowledge;ability to read schematics;demonstrated leadership ability;high levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure;strong planning and organisational skills to schedule and complete tasks;
