The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager to lead our newly created Machining Department. This is a unique opportunity to build a high-performing team, establish systems and processes, and play a key role in shaping the future of our remanufacturing operations.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production outcomes within Komatsu's machining workshop environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring all activities align with HSE legislation and Komatsu policies to protect everyone on site.
Leading from the front, you will plan and coordinate workloads, managing the production schedule to ensure the right resources are available to meet operational demand. You’ll oversee the execution of machining tasks, ensuring all work is delivered to the highest standards across safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
You will also play a pivotal leadership role, mentoring, developing, and supporting your team, building capability and fostering a high-performing, engaged workforce.
Role Located: Welshpool, WA

What we are looking for:
- 10 years’ experience in production/operations management within a machining or manufacturing environment (mandatory).
- Strong background in Fanuc CNC machine programming
- Thorough understanding production processes and practices.
- Thorough understanding of Quality Management and Continuous Improvements.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with internal and inter-company contacts and to demonstrate a commitment and understanding of what is required to create a customer focused manufacturing support environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills supported by the ability to communicate at all levels of the Komatsu Australia structure
- Good understanding of inventory, warehouse management and distribution techniques and practices.
- Good written and oral communication skills for both daily communication and staff training.
- High accuracy level of production data with sound analytical, organisation and problem-solving skills.
