Job Description

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

This is more than a Leading Hand role. It's an opportunity to take ownership of a critical area of the operation while building the leadership and statutory experience needed for future career progression.

Working closely with the Electrical Supervisor, you'll lead a large team of electricians and apprentices across our gold processing plant, coordinating maintenance activities, driving safe and efficient work execution, and supporting plant reliability. You'll also regularly step into the Supervisor role during periods of absence, providing valuable exposure to broader leadership responsibilities and site-wide decision making.

This role offers a unique blend of technical challenge, autonomy and people leadership. You'll have the opportunity to develop and mentor others, influence team performance, and further your own capability, including support to obtain your Section 26 qualification if not already held.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of electricians and apprentices.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Provide technical support across electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Build team capability through coaching, training and knowledge sharing.
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to achieve production and reliability targets.
  • Support shutdown planning, execution and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive safety performance by ensuring compliance with site procedures, electrical safety standards, isolation requirements and risk management processes.
  • Oversee work quality and technical compliance, ensuring maintenance activities are completed to the required standards and equipment is returned to service safely and reliably.
  • Act in the Electrical Supervisor role when required, gaining valuable leadership experience and exposure.

Why Mungari Operations?

Mungari is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio, with a mine life to at least 2038. It’s operationally diverse, with opportunities to work on the surface or underground and a great team of people who care. Our recent expansion of the processing plant has more than doubled processing capacity from 2 million to 4.2 million tonnes per year. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

Based in Kalgoorlie, this residential opportunity offers an attractive 8:6 roster working 10-hour shifts. We welcome applications from candidates across Australia who hold full unrestricted Australian working rights and are open to permanently relocating. Relocation assistance within Australia to Kalgoorlie will be provided. FIFO from Perth is not available.

The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
