ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on an even time sportsman’s 5,4,5 roster, at our Boddington Bauxite Mine reporting to the Supervisor Drill & Blast.

Please note that accommodation is not provided on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out to site on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Boddington.

As the Leading Hand Drill & Blast you will be responsible for coordinating daily drill and blast activities to meet safety, quality and operational requirements while supporting your Supervisor and guiding the crew.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Delivering safe work practices through hazard checks, field leadership & adherence to controls
• Monitoring equipment, work areas & critical controls to support safe, efficient operations
• Communicating shift plans, monitoring progress & reporting variances to targets
• Supervising field activities to ensure alignment with operational plans & standards
• Supporting onboarding, mentoring & skill development of crew members
• Promoting a positive, inclusive team culture focused on accountability & improvement

ABOUT YOU

• You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
• Leading teams in a fast‑paced operational environment with a strong safety focus
• Managing daily priorities, making sound decisions & adapting to changing conditions
• Communicating clearly, collaborating across teams & resolving issues constructively
• Guiding others through coaching, feedback & supportive team leadership

Qualifications for this position are:

• Current WA ‘C’ class driver’s license

Desirable

• Valid (or eligibility to obtain) Australian Dangerous Goods Security Card
• Progress toward WA Shotfirer License (Surface Operations) as recognized by DEMIRS
