Lead Mechanical Designer

About the Company

Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy servicing the mining and resources sector, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality design, project execution and optimisation solutions. They provide specialist support across mineral processing, bulk materials handling and infrastructure projects throughout Australia and internationally. Due to continued business growth, they are currently seeking a Senior or Lead Mechanical Designer to join their team based in the Perth CBD.

This role offers high-quality rates (negotiable based on experience) and the opportunity to work on major mining infrastructure projects.

About the Role

You will be involved in a variety of mining design projects across Iron Ore, Gold, Nickel and other commodities. The role will see you carrying out 3D detailing and design work for a range of bulk materials handling and processing equipment, including conveyor systems, feeders, rockbreakers, isolation gates and associated plant equipment. You will primarily utilise AutoCAD and Tekla Structures, while also playing a key role in supporting and helping lead a close-knit designer team.

About You / Requirements

To be successful in the position, you will require the following:

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Designing.
• At least 5 years + experience as a Mechanical Designer.
• Previous experience with AutoCAD, Microstation 3D or Tekla.
• Previous experience managing design teams, with strong interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
