About the Company
Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a site-based Health Officer to provide administrative and coordination support to the Health and Safety Team, ensuring effective management of employee medical assessments and health compliance processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining workforce health and safety by coordinating medical reviews, managing health records, liaising with medical providers and site leaders, and supporting the delivery of efficient health management systems across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and review pre-employment and periodic medical assessments to ensure personnel meet site health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with employers, medical providers and site leaders to obtain required medical information and support timely completion of medical assessment reviews in line with MRM standards.
- Identify potential health and safety risks within medical assessments and escalate concerns to relevant health personnel and leaders to determine worker suitability.
- Summarise and communicate medical assessment outcomes to relevant stakeholders to support site access and workforce compliance.
- Maintain accurate medical records by updating the training compliance database and secure medical filing systems.
- Coordinate medical assessment bookings, manage related communications, and assist with resolving appointment or documentation issues.
- Maintain medical assessment records, prepare reports, manage the medical centre mailbox, and support the continuous improvement of health management processes and administrative systems.
Requirements for Successful Applicant
Qualifications
- C Class Driver’s License
- Certificate III or above in Nursing or another Allied Health certification
- Cert III – Business (Desirable)
- Cert IV - Training & Assessment (Desirable)
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ office administration experience
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Effective time management skills
- Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems
- A thorough understanding of site stakeholder engagement strategies and communication methodologies
