About the Role

Health & Safety Advisor

• Join the Health & Safety team at our KCGM Operations.

We are looking for apositive and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our KCGM Operations in this Kalgoorlie Residential role.

Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Advisor you will provide guidance and support to site-based teams on matters relating to safety, health, hygiene, and systems.

What you can look forward to:

• Ensure site teams comply with the relevant regulations and continually develop the Safety Management System to remain relevant to all Stakeholders.
• Provide continuous support, guidance and direction to employees and contractors for all safety and health requirements.
• Review with the Manager–Safety serious incident investigations to ensure adequate quality and remedial actions are appropriate and implemented.
• Participate in risk assessments of site work activities and conditions.
• Monitor the completion of recommendations and actions from incident investigations, inspections, and audits.

Where you’ll add value:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in WHS
• An understanding of mining and minerals processing operations.
• Knowledge of safety programs and recognised safety management systems.
• Detailed understanding of the relevant acts and regulations.
• Experience in incident investigations, workplace inspections and audits.

Qualifications:

• Maximum of 5 - 7 bullet points is suggested for Blue Collar, and 7-10 max for White Collar
• Recognised tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) or a related discipline.
• Lead Auditor Qualifications.
• St John Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent.
• Current “C” Class Western Australian Driver’s Licence.

Our Kalgoorlie Production Centre includes KCGM, Carosue Dam and Kalgoorlie Operations (Kanowna Belle and South Kalgoorlie), bringing together a portfolio of established assets within one of Australia’s most recognised mining regions. Supported by a strong residential workforce and longstanding mining history, the centre offers the opportunity to contribute across a large-scale operational environment within the Goldfields region.
