Haul Truck Driver

Protech Cairns is seeking experienced Quarry Haul Truck Operators to join a local quarry operation. This is an excellent opportunity to secure consistent local work leading into the wet season, with competitive rates and the benefit of being home every night.

This is a local Cairns-based role and is not FIFO or DIDO. Applicants must already reside in the Cairns region and be able to travel to site daily.

About the Role

• Immediate start available
• Casual position with ongoing work
• Local quarry project based in the Cairns region
• Home every night
• Operating articulated haul trucks in a production quarry environment
• Penalty rates, overtime, and applicable allowances paid

Key Responsibilities

• Operate articulated haul trucks safely and efficiently
• Transport quarry materials throughout the site
• Complete daily pre-start inspections and report defects
• Work safely around mobile plant, site personnel, and changing traffic conditions
• Follow site procedures, safety standards, and production schedules
• Maintain a clean and professional work area
• Assist with general quarry duties as required

Tickets & Experience Required

• Current Driver Licence
• Proven experience operating articulated haul trucks or articulated dump trucks
• Previous quarry, mining, civil, or bulk earthworks experience highly regarded
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Understanding of fatigue management and safe operating practices
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
• Reliable transport and the ability to get to site independently
• Physically fit and capable of performing site-based duties
