We are seeking Graduate Metallurgists to join our 2026/2027 Graduate Intake, offering an exceptional opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across gold processing operations while building a strong technical foundation for a long‑term career.
About the opportunity
This is a structured graduate program combining site‑based and office experience, supported by mentoring from experienced metallurgical and processing professionals.
You will gain exposure across multiple processing plants, contributing to plant optimisation, metallurgical test work, sampling programs and day‑to‑day processing support. Our aim is to develop well‑rounded metallurgists with strong operational knowledge and technical confidence.
What you’ll be involved in
- Exposure to multiple gold processing plants producing 5+ Mtpa combined
- Assisting with plant optimisation, metallurgical test work and sampling
- Supporting metallurgical accounting, reporting and continuous improvement
- Gaining hands‑on experience across all processing functions
- Working closely with site and corporate technical teams
About you
You are motivated, curious and keen to start your career in the mining industry.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
- Strong computer literacy and analytical skills
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with operational teams
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- A current manual C Class driver’s licence
- A current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass Westgold’s pre‑employment medical and D&A screening
Vacation work or practical industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
