Our Opportunity
- Work Location: Gabon, Belinga project
- Roster: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off
- Reporting to: Exploration Manager - This role plays a critical part in the successful execution of the exploration work program. The Geology Superintendent is responsible for coordinating the Project's exploration work program across three sites, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of drilling, sampling and geological activities in line with company standards, approved work programs and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead delivery of the Project's exploration work program across three operating sites.
- Manage deployment and utilization of geology personnel, rigs and supporting resources to meet approved work programs and project schedules.
- Lead design and implementation of exploration programs including mapping, surface sampling, and RC/core drilling campaigns.
- Lead integration of geological, geochemical and geophysical data into robust 3D models to support target generation, ranking and decision-making.
- Prepare and present progress reporting, forecasts and schedule performance updates for management and strategic review forums.
- Provide technical leadership to solve complex geological problems and de-risk exploration decisions.
- Liaise across geology, drilling, earthworks, HSE, logistics and other departments to ensure aligned execution of project priorities.
- Lead or contribute to key strategic decision meetings and ongoing project strategy development.
- Ensure activities are undertaken in accordance with company policies, QAQC standards, land management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.

Skills
- Strong geological knowledge with ability to solve complex geological problems and ensure effective targeting
- Advanced project coordination capability across multiple sites and work fronts
- Strong leadership in cross-functional liaison and stakeholder management
- Strong report writing, presentation and computer skills
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, database platforms, IMDEX ioGAS and Seequent Leapfrog
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead strategic decision meetings and convert outcomes into executable project plans
- High personal integrity, professional discretion and adaptability in remote operations
- Must be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent time management and scheduling skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and mining related software
- Experience working in Africa preferably in the mining industry

Experience
- Prior experience in the exploration or mining sector (10-15 years)
- Proven work experience similar role (5+ years at Senior Project Geologist level)
- Must be able to work independently, as well as a member of a team.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have flexibility with scheduling and be willing to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent time management and scheduling skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and mining related software
- Experience working in Africa preferably in the mining industry.

- Bachelor's Degree in Geology required, Master's Degree in Geology preferred.
- Supplementary training and course work preferred
