About the role
The Finance Improvement Specialist will apply a critical lens to current systems and process, identifying opportunities for enhancement and improvement. You will play a central role supporting group and site expectations on usability, accuracy, and reliability of workflows underpinning monthly finance transactions and reporting.
This role will have visibility across all streams of business, with a responsibility for continuous improvement and process excellence.
Some key responsibilities include.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, workflows, and controls enabled by systems.
- Identify ways of making cost savings and improving business financial performance
- Partner with finance stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
- Document current and future-state processes, system changes, and business rules.
- Support and enhance Power BI dashboards and finance reporting solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with finance, IT, vendors, and external partners.
- Ensure system and process changes maintain appropriate financial controls, auditability, and compliance.
- Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned across the team.
About you
You have an eye for what’s working, what isn’t, and a logical and analytical approach to problem solving. You may have a background in systems accounting or are currently an Analyst embedded within a finance team with a remit for continuous improvement.
This role will impact both our site and operations teams, together with our group functions so a comfort level with stakeholders at all levels of business is essential. Strong financial process knowledge (close cycle, reconciliations, reporting, AP/AR, FP&A) is a must. Your “toolkit” also includes Lean Six Sigma methodology, open database connectivity (ODBC) and a proficiency with ERP systems such as Pronto, Oracle, SAP and NetSuite.

- Proactivity, initiative, and a prescriptive mindset
- A “super user” of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or equivalent
- Excellent financial process knowledge
- Ability to manage work across differing time zones, with a willingness to travel to mine sites as required.
