The Opportunity

MinRes are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Geological Field Technician to join our Exploration and Geology team on a site-based FIFO 8×6 roster. You will be a key member of the drill programme support team, responsible for the end-to-end processing of diamond drill core and RC drill samples, ensuring the integrity and quality of geological data that underpins our resource definition and exploration activities.

This role is well suited to someone with hands-on experience who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of sample quality and data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to all site safety procedures, MinRes policies, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Identify and report hazards, near-misses, and incidents in line with MinRes's safety-first culture

What you’ll bring to the team

  • 6-12 months demonstrated practical experience in a similar geological field technician or field assistant role
  • Exposure to open pit or greenfields exploration environments is highly regarded
  • Understanding of sampling methodologies, quality assurance, and quality control (QAQC) procedures
  • Experience with geological databases (e.g. acQuire, Micromine, or similar) is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data recording and documentation
  • A physical fitness level commensurate with working in a remote, outdoor environment
  • Current driver's licence
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A genuine interest in geology and a desire to develop a long-term career in the resources industry
