Field Assistant

If you enjoy exploration fieldwork and prefer being part of a small team where everyone gets involved, this is a good opportunity to join an active magnetite and gold exploration programme.

You’ll join a small site team of six, supporting geologists across an upcoming RC drilling campaign. Around 1,000 metres of drilling is planned initially, with the role starting as a 3 month contract and potential to extend.

Your main focus will be RC sampling and sample handling, along with supporting the geologists and helping with general exploration activities around site. With a smaller team, you won’t be limited to one repetitive task. You’ll get involved wherever needed and have good exposure to how the broader exploration programme comes together.

The role will initially work a 12:9 FIFO roster, with potential to move to a 9:5 or 8:6 roster.

Accommodation is provided in single-person mobile accommodation, with good camp facilities on site. Meals are self-catered.

What you’ll need:

• 1 to 2 years’ exploration field experience
• Previous RC sampling experience
• Geological sampling or Field Assistant experience
• Current manual driver’s licence
• Forklift ticket preferred, not essential
• Comfortable working in a small, hands-on team.

This would suit someone who enjoys being out in the field, is comfortable around RC drilling and is happy to pitch in across different parts of an exploration programme.
