Expression of Interest - Mechanical Fitter

UGL is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our GLNG Maintenance Team supporting one of Australia's leading LNG facilities on Curtis Island.

These are casual and permanent opportunities that are suited to locals offering ongoing work across a variety of maintenance scopes. Positions are available across a combination of 7 days on / 7 days off rosters and Monday to Friday rosters, with roster allocations dependent on operational and maintenance requirements.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative and corrective maintenance activities across a range of rotating and static equipment within a complex LNG processing facility.

Working as part of a high-performing maintenance team, you will contribute to the safe and reliable operation of critical plant equipment while ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.

Please note, this position is suited to locals and is not a FIFO opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment
• Maintain and overhaul pumps, compressors, blowers, valves and associated plant equipment
• Complete equipment inspections, fault finding and repairs
• Conduct flange management, alignment and lubrication activities
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements
• Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation within the CMMS system
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance reliability outcomes
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental compliance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Essential Requirements
• Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification
• Current Work Safely at Heights certification
• Current Atmospheric Testing certification
• Current High Risk Work Licence - WP (Boom-type EWP 11m+)
• Current MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card)
• Current C Class Driver's Licence
• Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience
• Demonstrated experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Chemical Processing or similar heavy industrial environments
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Commitment to safe work practices and teamwork

Highly Desirable

• Previous LNG or hydrocarbon processing plant experience
• Flange Management / Joint Integrity certification
• Basic Rigging Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Telehandler Licence
• Confined Space Entry certification
• Breathing Apparatus certification
• Gas Testing competency
• First Aid qualification
• Experience with rotating equipment maintenance and condition monitoring
