About the Role

As an Estimator at Vaughan Constructions, you'll play a key role in developing accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) across a range of projects. You'll analyse design documentation, engage with subcontractors, and assess all cost-related elements throughout the enquiry, tender, and construction phases. Your attention to detail and industry expertise will help deliver cost-effective solutions that reflect Vaughan's high standards in construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare +/-5% budget estimates from client design briefs, measuring by trade in Buildsoft
• Review tender documentation and manage subcontractor invitations, engagement, and pricing (including EstimateOne)
• Produce accurate BOQs, trade comparisons, and Cost Summaries
• Complete Project Preliminaries and review programme/resourcing with the CM
• Assess contract and construction risks, advising Marketing on impacts
• Develop clarification and exclusions lists for Client Submissions
• Attend design meetings to ensure contract alignment with BOQ allowances
• Complete Contract Checks and flag scope changes to BDM/GM
• Support PMs with subcontract negotiations and variations
• Maintain BOQ and budget accuracy throughout

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Estimating or equivalent and/or proven experience in a similar role within the commercial/industrial construction industry.
• We will consider applicants who are degree qualified in quality surveying and want to take that next step into estimating.
• Estimator with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to confidently liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Familiar with inhouse estimating software such as Buildsoft Cubit are highly desirable for the role.
