Pearl Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded Australian mining services contractor with strong roots in the Goldfields and an established presence across the resources sector. The business has built long-standing relationships with some of Australia’s leading mining operators through its diverse mining, haulage and civil capabilities.

With continued growth across its project portfolio, they’re now looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Perth-based commercial team.

Estimator (Civil / Mining)

Perth CBD Location Permanent, Full-Time | Monday to Friday Circa $150,000 + Superannuation Fantastic Long-Term Career Opportunity

**The Role:**Working closely with Corporate Development and Operations, you’ll prepare and review estimates, tender pricing and commercial models to ensure projects are accurately costed and commercially competitive.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender documents, project scopes, drawings and specifications
• Preparing accurate project estimates and pricing for new and existing work
• Updating rates, cost models and pricing as projects change
• Estimating civil works including earthworks, drainage, TSF works and associated infrastructure
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical information
• Working with operational teams to make sure all project costs are captured
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and ways to improve project value
• Supporting variations, repricing and commercial changes on existing projects
• Keeping clear records of estimates, tenders and pricing activity
• Assisting with tender submissions and client presentations
• Occasionally travelling to site for tender meetings and to better understand project requirements

What do you need to be successful?
We’re looking for someone who has:

• 3+ years’ estimating experience within civil construction, mining and/or haulage
• Strong understanding of project pricing, civil construction costs and estimating
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Good commercial awareness with the ability to identify risks, cost savings and pricing opportunities
• Competent using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
• Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar highly regarded
• Certificate IV in Building Project Support (Estimator) and/or Certificate IV in Civil Construction highly regarded
• Strong communication, organisation and negotiation skills
• Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol assessment
