Westgold is seeking an Environmental Superintendent to lead environmental performance at Fortnum Gold Operations. This is an outstanding opportunity to take ownership of a well-established environmental function while working closely with site leadership to support safe, compliant and sustainable mining operations.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Environmental Superintendent is responsible for environmental performance at Fortnum Gold Operations. This is a site-based role for an experienced environmental professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, solving complex challenges and driving continuous improvement.
You will provide direction across compliance, approvals, monitoring, rehabilitation, contractor management and stakeholder engagement while helping ensure environmental considerations are embedded into day-to-day decision making across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and develop the site environmental team.
- Drive implementation and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.
- Oversee environmental compliance, monitoring and reporting activities.
- Coordinate environmental support for operational and project activities.
- Manage contractors, budgets and environmental work programs.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, Traditional Owners, pastoralists and local stakeholders.
About You
You are a practical and approachable leader who enjoys working closely with operational teams to deliver real outcomes. You bring:
- A degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years' experience in mining, industry or government.
- Experience working with operational teams and managing contractors.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience with approvals and regulatory reporting.
- The ability to provide practical advice, influence stakeholders and build strong working relationships across a site operation.
