Westgold Resources is seeking an experienced Environmental Rehabilitation Advisor to drive rehabilitation and closure outcomes across our portfolio of Western Australian gold operations.

Reporting to the Principal Environmental Approvals, this role combines hands-on operational involvement with strategic closure planning. Working across multiple sites, you will provide technical expertise, manage rehabilitation projects and support long-term closure objectives that contribute to sustainable post-mining land uses.

You will play a key role in embedding rehabilitation and closure considerations into operational and strategic decision-making, ensuring environmental obligations are met while delivering practical outcomes across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support rehabilitation planning, implementation and monitoring across Westgold operations.
  • Develop, review and continuously improve Mine Closure Plans and closure strategies.
  • Manage rehabilitation and closure projects, field trials and research initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality assurance for rehabilitation programs and earthworks.
  • Identify, assess and manage closure and rehabilitation risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain rehabilitation monitoring systems and closure performance data.
  • Prepare technical reports, business cases and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with site teams, technical services, consultants, regulators and Traditional Owner groups to achieve successful rehabilitation outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in mine rehabilitation, mine closure, environmental management or environmental consulting within the mining sector.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a portfolio of operations.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing technical reports and environmental documentation.
  • Sound knowledge of mining-related environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS will be highly regarded.
