The Newman Operations team are currently seeking applications from experienced individuals to join our Fixed Plant Processing Team. We are looking for people who are motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn and will enjoy being part of collaborative and diverse teams.

These are residential roles based on even-time roster which include a combination of day & night shifts.

Position Overview

The Processing Production Outflow Team plays a critical role in supporting the WAIO supply chain by ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of ore to rail. Ore received from OHP2, OHP3, and the Car Dumper is stacked onto the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS). From the COS, ore is drawn through the chutes, processed via the Screenhouse, transferred to the stockyard, reclaimed, and subsequently loaded onto trains at the Train Loadout (TLO).

Operators in these roles are responsible for the safe and effective operation of heavy machinery on the Coarse Ore Stockpile and Train Load Cones and make a key contribution to the achievement of Ore for Rail and Time at Mine targets.

Key Accountabilities

    • Safely and efficiently operate all machinery associated with COS and TLO stockpile activities.
    • Maintain stable and consistent ore flow into the working chutes.
    • Safely push and manage stockpiles to maintain space and optimise product flow.
    • Maintain a safe and compliant stockpile profile at all times.
    • Effectively manage water pooling and general stockpile conditions.

The 7,000 strong community of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre with shops and restaurants as well as sporting facilities, swimming pool and Gym’s.  Newman is gateway to the Karijini National Park, where you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes to explore in your free time.    

Your Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

    • Demonstrated competency in operating CAT D11/D10 dozers and Liebherr 9150/9200 excavators
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders.
    • A collaborative mindset and proven ability to work within a team environment.
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and uphold behaviours aligned to our Charter Values.
    • Have previous experience operating on live stockpiles (preferred but not essential).
    • Be able to work effectively with stakeholders including IROC Control, MEW, Field Maintenance, and both Fixed Plant Processing and Maintenance teams.
