As we continue to grow our Technology and Transport capability, we are seeking an experienced Discipline Manager to provide technical leadership across major transport, infrastructure and technology projects.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading engineering discipline outcomes across projects, ensuring technical excellence, quality, governance and successful project delivery. You will work closely with project teams, stakeholders and clients to develop and implement innovative technology solutions that meet operational, safety and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering leadership across ITS and technology projects.
- Manage engineering quality, risk, governance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead design reviews, verification and validation activities.
- Support tender development and technical solution development.
- Drive delivery outcomes across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, priorities and delivery strategies.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and project teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
About You
- Degree qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience within technology, engineering or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and project delivery.
- Possess or meets the requirements to be Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing technical risk, governance and engineering assurance activities.
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence and commercial outcomes.
- Experience within rail, transport, defence, aviation, industrial automation or other safety-critical sectors.
Technical Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across one or more of the following:
- Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
- Operational Technology (OT) and industrial control systems.
- CCTV, access control, public address and communications systems.
- SCADA, PLC and control system design.
- Systems engineering and assurance.
- Cloud, data analytics and digital solutions.
- DevSecOps, Agile delivery and modern software engineering practices.
- Transport, road, tunnel or rail technology infrastructure.
