About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Database Geologist to join our Exploration team in Perth. This is a hands-on, technical role at the centre of our geological data ecosystem — responsible for the validation, management and integrity of all geochemical and drill hole datasets across our exploration and mining programs.

With significant annual investment in drilling and field data collection, the quality of our data directly drives the quality of our decisions. You'll be the expert others rely on to keep that data accurate, accessible and fit for purpose.

Reporting to the Principal Geologist – Business Development, you'll work closely with our Exploration and Site Mining teams to ensure data is loaded, validated and available when it's needed — and you'll look for ways to make those processes better along the way.

What You'll Be Doing

• Validating and uploading surface and underground geochemical and drill hole data into DataShed in a timely and accurate manner
• Performing data validation checks, correcting errors and producing monthly QAQC reports
• Liaising with Principal, Senior and Project Geologists on data validation issues
• Managing data extraction requests and supporting geologists across the business
• Identifying opportunities to improve data management workflows and automate repetitive processes
• Supporting the seamless integration of new and historical datasets
• Delivering training and technical support to operational teams on DataShed
• Updating and recoding historical datasets into Ramelius logging formats as required

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary degree in Geology or Geological Science
• Proven experience in geological data management, compilation and validation
• Advanced DataShed / LogChief relational database skills
• Solid SQL experience — able to understand, edit and write SQL applications
• Microsoft SQL Server experience
• Working knowledge of the JORC Code
• Advanced MS Excel, Access and Word skills
• WA Driver's Licence and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)

Highly Regarded

• CorePlan experience
• Python scripting or other coding skills
• ArcGIS Pro and/or Microsoft Power BI
• Experience identifying and implementing workflow or systems improvements
