Core Yard Technician

Join a leading gold mining operation in Western Australia with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. Due to increased activity within the exploration and geology department, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Core Yard Technician to support site-based geological programs on an initial 2-month contract.

About the Role

As a Core Yard Technician, you will play a key role in supporting geological and exploration activities on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving, handling, and organising drill core samples
• Core tray preparation, labelling, and storage
• Cutting and sampling drill core in accordance with site procedures
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient core yard
• Assisting geologists with sample dispatch and data collection
• Operating core saws and other core yard equipment
• Conducting manual handling and lifting of core trays
• Supporting daily geology and exploration activities as required

About You / Requirements

• Previous experience working in a core yard, exploration, or mining environment
• Experience handling and processing drill core
• Strong commitment to safety and site procedures
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Forklift ticket (desirable)
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
• FIFO experience highly regarded
