Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and driving a positive safety culture? We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Training Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in supporting our operational leaders to achieve outstanding safety outcomes. In this hands-on, influential position, you will champion health, safety and environmental initiatives, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure our people return home safely every day. Working closely with site leadership teams, you will contribute to risk assessments, incident prevention strategies, and the review and development of operational procedures that support best practice across the business. Based at our Hazelmere office, this is a full-time permanent opportunity offering the chance to make a meaningful impact within a fast paced environment.

The role:

  • Support the site leadership team in the effective implementation of Barminco’s safety management systems.
  • Drive the execution of company-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing health and safety performance.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and promote operational excellence at all levels of the workforce.
  • Provide expert mentoring and guidance on HSE management systems to the site leadership team.
  • Coach and develop site leaders in critical risk management processes.
  • Engage with clients on WHS activities and oversee the monitoring of site-based lead and lag indicators.
  • Prepare and distribute comprehensive weekly and monthly HSE reports, presentations, and key safety topics.
  • Facilitate and lead incident investigations, overseeing site corrective actions and hazard reporting processes.
  • Manage rehabilitation and return-to-work programs, including documentation, injured worker support, and coordination with health professionals.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, environmental, quality, and training systems and processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct on-site drug and alcohol testing, fitness assessments, and hydration monitoring.

About you:

  • 5+ years experience (underground mining experience desirable).
  • WHS cert IV or above
  • Training and Assessing - Certificate IV
  • Underground operational knowledge desirable
