The Role
As Contracts Administrator, you will take ownership of contracts post-award, supporting contract owners in the day-to-day management and administration of agreements. You will ensure compliance, monitor performance, manage variations and extensions, and engage ad hoc suppliers via Purchase Orders. This role requires strong relationship management with vendors and internal stakeholders, with a focus on delivering compliant, well-managed, and commercially sound contract outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer contracts post-award, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Support contract owners in the day-to-day management of contracts
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Monitor contractor performance, deliverables, and progress against contract requirements
- Manage contract variations, extensions, and updates to terms and conditions
- Assist with claims management, dispute resolution, and contract close-out activities
- Engage ad hoc suppliers via Purchase Orders in line with business requirements
- Maintain accurate contract documentation, registers, and correspondence
- Ensure governance, policy compliance, and audit readiness, including supporting audit activities
- Track and report on contract performance, costs, and key commercial metrics
- Maintain the contracts management system with accurate, up-to-date information
About You
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented contracts professional with experience in post-award contract administration. You excel at managing competing priorities, maintaining strong documentation practices, and building effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders. You bring a proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to interpret contractual obligations, manage risk, and support contract owners to achieve successful outcomes.
You bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent would be preferred
- Demonstrated experience in contract administration or post-award contract management
- Strong understanding of contractual terms, conditions, and lifecycle management
- Experience managing variations, extensions, compliance, and contract performance
- Sound knowledge of governance, compliance, and audit processes
- Ability to manage Purchase Orders and engage suppliers in line with policy
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including cost tracking and analysis (Excel proficiency preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail, organisation, and documentation accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and contract management systems
