Contracting Supervisor

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Asphalt Supervisor to join our Transport & Infrastructure, Asphalt & Products business.

Reporting to the Surfacing Manager, you will lead and coordinate personnel, plant, suppliers and resources across asphalt projects and maintenance activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate personnel, plant, machinery and subcontractors.
• Plan and organise asphalt works to support safe and efficient delivery.
• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with relevant safety standards.
• Monitor productivity, minimise waste and maintain quality outcomes.
• Manage client requirements and resolve site issues professionally.
• Coach and develop team members while promoting accountability and teamwork.
• Support operational, administrative and financial requirements.
• Drive a strong Zero Harm culture across the team.

About You / Requirements

• Demonstrated supervisory or operational experience at a similar level.
• Strong knowledge and experience within asphalt surfacing operations.
• Strong leadership, planning, organisational and time-management skills.
• Experience leading teams and managing workplace issues.
• Strong stakeholder and client relationship skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and legislation.
• Experience with budgeting and financial review.
• Experience with EBAs, contracts and negotiation processes.
• Bitumen handling and heavy vehicle logistics planning experience would be highly regarded.
• Certificate IV in Frontline Management is preferred.
