Construction Manager Substations

A leading global EPC contractor is delivering major high-voltage substation projects across Australia and is seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Substations to lead the safe and efficient delivery of complex AIS substation works.

This role will take ownership of full-cycle substation construction, managing large multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors across civil and electrical scopes.

Your new role

As Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end construction delivery of high-voltage substations, ensuring works are executed safely, to programme, and in line with quality and contractual requirements.

You will be a delivery-focused Construction Manager with:

• Managing full-cycle substation construction delivery, from early works through to commissioning support
• Leading construction activities on 132kV–500kV AIS substations, including power plant EBOP where applicable
• Overseeing integrated delivery of civil and electrical works across multiple work fronts
• Managing site operations, subcontractors, and interfaces with engineering and commissioning teams
• Driving programme performance, productivity, and scheduled recovery were required.
• Ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, and project governance standards
• Providing regular progress, risk, and performance reporting to senior project leadership

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience delivering high-voltage AIS substation projects (132kV–500kV)
• Experience across the full construction lifecycle, including:

  • Earthworks and site preparation

  • Foundations and civil structures

    • Structural steel installation
    • Primary and secondary equipment installation- Experience delivering power plant EBOP works is highly regarded.
    • Strong capability managing both civil and electrical construction scopes
    • Experience coordinating interfaces between:
      • Primary plant installation
      • Secondary systems, protection, and control
      • Testing and commissioning teams
