Join our team as an Injury Management Coordinator, where you will identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate controls to support our construction team.
This is a full-time FIFO role based on a unique and engaging 4:3, 4:3, 8:6 roster, with your time split evenly between our Welshpool office and Gruyere Gold Mine.
The Gruyere Gold Mine is an open pit operation located within the Yamarna greenstone belt approximately 200 kilometres east of Laverton in Western Australia.

Key areas of responsibility:
- Split your time between the Welshpool office and the Gruyere Gold Mine on a 4:3, 4:3, 8:6 roster.
- Maintain the injury management database, ensuring accurate and detailed records are kept.
- Review medical assessments and provide advice to Human Resources and site operations on both new and existing employees, while promoting a culture of early intervention.
- Develop Return to Work (RTW) plans in line with medical guidance and in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate bookings, treatments, fitness-for-work assessments, and medical follow-ups in accordance with established RTW plans, ensuring compliance with relevant State or Territory workers’ compensation legislation.
- Provide direction, advice, and education to HSEQ on the organisation’s injury management processes.
- Submit Workers’ Compensation (WC) and Income Protection (IP) claims.
- Liaise with insurers to ensure ongoing strategic management of claims, with a focus on cost mitigation and timely return to work.
- Support site teams in coordinating doctor and allied health reviews for injured workers referred to the Injury Management team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in injury management, ideally within the Mining and Resources sector or other heavy industries, with a strong understanding of return-to-work practices and early intervention strategies.
- Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing workers’ compensation and income protection claims, including working with insurers and coordinating medical services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to influence, engage, and work collaboratively across teams including operations, HR, and HSEQ.
- Experience developing and implementing Return to Work (RTW) plans aligned with medical advice and legislative requirements.
- Sound conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations and achieve positive outcomes for both employees and the business.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands across multiple sites and stakeholders.
- High level of written communication skills, including maintaining accurate case documentation and reporting.
