About the Role
Role Purpose
The Commercial Bid Support Officer supports the development of winning bids by preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing commercial data, and collaborating closely with technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical capabilities, a curious mindset, and a desire to grow within a global organisation.
This role is best suited to someone with 1-3 years experience post university.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate cost estimates to support bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Analyse historical data, supplier quotes, and internal inputs to validate assumptions and improve estimate accuracy.
- Build, maintain, and optimise complex Excel models to support pricing and scenario analysis.
- Work collaboratively with bid managers, sales teams, and subject matter experts to gather required commercial and technical information.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, processes, and templates.
- Support risk assessments and commercial evaluations during bid development.

- Advanced Excel Skills – Capable of building and managing complex spreadsheets involving formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and data visualisation.
- Curious and Analytical Mindset – Naturally inquisitive, willing to challenge assumptions, and eager to understand the “why” behind data and decisions.
- High Work Ethic and Positive Attitude – Reliable, self‑motivated, and committed to producing high‑quality work under deadlines.

- Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills – Able to translate commercial and technical information into clear, structured outputs.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
This role is pitched at a graduate level position, with relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or similar preferred. Exposure or experience in commercial analysis or bid tendering is welcomed but not a pre-requisite for the role.
