ISS Aviation and Transport plays a critical role in Australia’s aviation network, screening 43 million passengers and over 300,000 flights every year. Due to recent legislative changes, we are excited to offer a new pathway into aviation security, providing the opportunity to become an Aviation Protection Officer at Perth Airport on a part‑time basis.

About the Role

Aviation Protection Officer – Part Time at Perth Airport.

As an Aviation Protection Officer, you will work within a diverse and professional security team dedicated to safety, compliance, and customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting consistent and standardised security screening of passengers and belongings
• Controlling access to security‑sensitive areas and performing physical searches
• Identifying weapons, explosives, and prohibited items
• Coordinating the efficient flow of passengers through security screening points
• Demonstrating effective communication and sound decision‑making
• Delivering consistently high‑quality customer service in a fast‑paced environment

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in customer service or a strong interest in aviation and airport operations
• Willingness to complete company‑provided training to obtain a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (or already hold this qualification)
• Ability to pass drug & alcohol testing and medical assessments
• Ability to obtain an ASIC (criminal history check – costs paid by ISS)
• WA Security Licence highly desirable
  • Free Certificate III upgrade available for existing Certificate II holders

• Hold an unrestricted driver’s licence and have reliable transport
• Availability to work across a 24/7 rotational roster

About the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection

Aviation security is critical to passenger safety. To meet modern threat levels, new legislation requires specialised theoretical knowledge for all Aviation Screeners.

As both the Employer and Training Provider, ISS uniquely supports you through your qualification journey. The Certificate II in Transport Security Protection includes:

• Approximately 25 hours of online learning
• 5 days of paid practical training at the airport
• 40 hours of paid on‑the‑job training
• Access to webinars, online support, and experienced trainers

This nationally recognised qualification is valued at $2000 and currently offered at $1500 for a limited time.
