Our Opportunity

Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

**Roster:**7D7N14R FIFO ex Perth and Busselton 

As a Heavy Diesel Fitter in the Ancillary team at Fortescue’s Solomon Project, you’ll be at the forefront of keeping our Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) running at peak performance—driving reliability, maximising uptime, and supporting our bold sustainability targets.

You bring hands-on experience across a diverse fleet, including on-highway trucks (Scania, Volvo and Isuzu), BCI coaches, and a range of small to medium support mining equipment such as skid steers, stemming and IT loaders, excavators up to 30 tonnes, tyre handlers, forklifts and cable tractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance of large-scale Mobile Mining Equipment
• Diagnostics and fault finding
• Workshop and pit duties as required
• Work collaboratively with all mobile maintenance teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance
• Ensure Fortescue and site operations procedures and policies are followed

Qualifications and Experience

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate as a Heavy Duty (HD) Fitter or Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME)
• Previous experience working in the mining industry
• Experience with mobile plant equipment – highway trucks, coaches and small to medium support mining equipment
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
