Assistant Village Manager

About the Role

Sodexo has an influential leadership opportunity at one of its remote sites in South Australia. We’re looking for an Assistant Village Manager to oversee and manage village operations. We want you to bring your passion for safety and people management to our team.

Village Managers play a critical role in the successful running of village operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing multiple departments within the contracted scope of work, including housekeeping, catering, building and maintenance, and administration.
• Building and strengthening client relationships while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Leading, developing and managing a diverse workforce, ensuring team members understand their roles and can meet performance objectives.
• Taking full financial performance and P&L responsibility, with a focus on labour and food costs.
• Identifying areas for improvement and using systems, policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of village operations.

About You

You’ll have a client- and consumer-centric approach to service, as well as the following essentials:

• Financial acumen, with proven experience implementing cost-saving initiatives and meeting budgets.
• Familiarity with HACCP compliance and remote-site HSE requirements.
• Proven ability to negotiate, influence, listen, guide and interact effectively with all stakeholders.
• A solid understanding of HR processes and cultural competence.
• Strong people management skills and a proven ability to build and support team cohesion.
• Excellent computer, compliance and reporting skills.
• A current manual driver’s licence.

The following experience is preferred or highly desirable:

• Accommodation reservation experience is preferred but not essential.
• Previous remote-site experience is highly desirable. In lieu of remote experience, extensive hospitality experience at a general manager level will be transferable to this opportunity.
