Job Purpose
The Asset Management Systems Engineer is responsible for the lifecycle management of physical assets used in project delivery and Through Life Support (TLS). The role coordinates and manages the configuration of assets throughout the engineering lifecycle, including design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance activities.
The Asset Management Systems Engineer works to optimise asset performance, support maintenance planning, and provide asset-related insights to assist the Engineering Manager in making strategic decisions that ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and long-term asset value.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Engineering Manager with compliance of the documentation required under the UGL Asset Management (AM) system.
Review and plan works in accordance with the AM system and the Rail & Technology Systems business framework, or as guided by the Engineering Manager.
Ensure technical aspects of the job are clear and become familiar with contractual arrangements made with our clients/internal stakeholders.
Maintain oversight of the Asset Performance portfolio from a project delivery/pipeline viewpoint while maintaining an open approach to all problems.
Provide a focal point for all queries for associated subcontractors / suppliers supporting the Project Team.
Liaise with the clients on engineering and design related items to ensure scopes are clearly defined and understood.
Liaise with all required stakeholders regarding schedule issues and status of activities.
Prepare, with the support of the Engineering Manager, all Inspection and Test Plans and associated job-specific procedures for work being delivered by the Project team.
Ensure the quality requirements of our clients and internal stakeholders are adhered to and that Company procedures are followed.
Assist the Engineering Manager with the procurement of goods and services.
Qualifications
Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or equivalent (mandatory).
Accreditation as a Chartered Professional Engineer (desirable).
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the rail or construction industry.
