About the Opportunity
Our client, a major Defence and Maritime Industry provider who is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join its team.
This position will contribute to the design and delivery of complex vessel projects, supporting the engineering process from early concept development through detailed design, construction and final delivery.
The successful candidate will combine strong naval architecture capability with a practical understanding of vessel production and construction requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support vessel designs from concept through to construction and delivery
- Produce accurate engineering drawings, calculations, technical documentation and design information
- Ensure engineering outputs comply with internal procedures, regulatory requirements and audit standards
- Coordinate design activities to meet project schedules and construction milestones
- Identify and resolve design issues that may arise
- Provide updates with key stakeholders
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- A Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture or a closely related discipline
- At least 3+ of relevant naval architecture or vessel-design experience
- Advanced AutoCAD capability
- Knowledge of applicable maritime regulations and industry standards
- Strong written, verbal and technical drawing communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work within project deadlines
- Australian working rights and eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
